zTrip is seeking a highly organized and people-oriented Driver Recruiter to join our dynamic team. This individual will play a key role in attracting, processing, and onboarding new driver candidates while maintaining strong relationships and communication with both applicants and internal departments. The Driver Recruiter ensures a smooth and compliant hiring experience for new drivers, supports ongoing driver engagement, and helps manage key aspects of the driver onboarding and transition process.

Key Responsibilities of a Driver Recruiter:

  • Manage incoming driver applications and track candidate progress through the hiring funnel.
  • Conduct and manage in-person Driver Info Sessions (Tuesdays at 2:00 PM, Thursdays at 10:00 AM).
  • Greet and assist walk-in driver applicants.
  • Run drug screens following Info Sessions and resolve related issues.
  • Assist or initiate and track background checks and outcomes; maintain organized candidate records.
  • Monitor progress of candidates through required steps: background check, defensive driving test, permit verification, and orientation readiness.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with candidates regarding application status and onboarding steps.
  • Driver Onboarding
  • Facilitate and coordinate Orientation sessions (Wednesdays), in collaboration with operations and training teams.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure readiness of equipment and vehicle assignments for new drivers (tablets, vehicles, keys, mentor schedules).
  • Assign vehicles and mentors to new drivers and issue vehicles at varying times depending on driver availability.
  • Support six-week driver coaching and mentoring transition processes.
  • Assist in setting up Defensive Driving Courses and ensuring permit compliance.
  • Driver Relations & Administrative Support
  • Communicate daily with drivers regarding a range of issues, updates, and concerns.
  • Monitor and reconcile driver account balances; make contact every 2–3 days for high-balance accounts.
  • Maintain and update reports 2–3 times per week on candidate progress, orientation attendance, and other onboarding metrics.
  • Print and assemble New Driver Folders every 2–3 weeks.
  • Manage vehicle inventory and condition (for both new drivers and serviced vehicles).
  • Respond to exception-case candidates with personalized email communication.
